The Goat Mentality


There is a popular misconception that goat are not very bright. Many cultures across different continents  feature the goat in their folklore and stories.There are those  that depict  goat as a symbol of  vitality and wealth while others  see it as a sign of resilience and sensuality.

Goats generally move in flocks, from time immemorial, they  are very sociable domestic animal.

So, what does it mean when the goat mentality resides in someone life? This simply means that such people will acquire very good balancing and coordination skills.

They will posses the ability to deal with difficult situation quite effectively. Just like the goat, such people will be able to see what most other people cannot see.

Its scientifically proven  that goat has the ability to see for up to 340 degrees. It means that are enable to  see without having to move their head much.

  • Goats use the sneeze sound as an alarm. They usually use this  to warn each other of danger, whether real or imagined.
  • They are very intelligent and curious.Although they are  rarely given credit for being the smart and loving creatures they actually are.
  • Goats have strong distaste water and would rather leap over streams and puddles than step in them.
  •   The soft wool called cashmere is obtained from special bred of goat.

“Female goats are referred to as does or nannies,  males are called bucks or billies, and juvenile goats of both sexes are called kids. Castrated males are called wethers.

  • A baby goat is called a kid, while a goat giving birth is known as  “kidding”?
  • Goats are sociable animals and therefore become depressed if they are separated or isolated from their companions, however they are not flock-orientated like sheep.
  • They are one of the cleanliest animals and are much more selective feeders than cows, sheep, pigs, swine and even dogs.
  • Goats are very intelligent and curious animals. Their inquisitive nature is exemplified in their constant desire to explore and investigate anything unfamiliar which they come across.
  • They communicate with each other by bleating. Mothers will often call to their young (kids) to ensure they stay close-by. Mother and kid goats recognise each other’s calls soon after the mothers give birth.

In 2011, there were more than 924 million goats living in the world, according to the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation.
